“Prof M R Mahajan is presently working as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department of MAEER’s MIT Polytechnic, Pune, Maharashtra, India. He has a teaching experience of 22 years. He has got a prestigious Best Teacher Award of MIT group of Institutions, 2018. He has completed his Masters in Heat Power Engineering from the University of Pune securing First Class.
He is Involved in teaching heat power engineering related subjects. Being a founder member of the department, he was instrumental in setting up some laboratories and also laying better practices within the department.
He is looking after placement cell under which main focus is on training and grooming of students. Instrumental in organizing students and faculty training programs for departmental. Through all these activities, maintained good rapport with industry people. To name a few faculty training, FDPs in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Power Engineering, Mechanical Measurements were organized which were funded by MSBTE, Mumbai. For students, training programs were conducted with the help of Barclays, Cummins and Bosch Training Center. Through placement cell, 90% students could be sent to an internship in different small to large scale industries.
He has a substantial contribution in departmental level NBA documentation. He is also part of latest “I” scheme curriculum being developed by MSBTE, Mumbai for Diploma in Engineering Students. Mainly Thermal engineering, Power Engineering subjects’ contents are designed. Also, the practical contents of thermal engineering were redesigned. First time simulation based experiments were added to the lab work. There are 4 national and 1 international paper to his credit.
